Ambiance Congo: September 9, 2012

WELCOME!
Let us start with a favorite song from a favoite CD. I have to say that I love these twenty year old Anges Adorables volumes from Wenge Musica BCBG. I could probably play them every day and not tire of them. Follow that with a similar track from the same era by Modogo Gian Franco Ferre with Viva and we're off to a great start.
I hope you'll enjoy the program. Thanks to Soukousman for turning me on to the Ladins Montana & Werrason album. I listened to the songs on his Youtube channel and quickly found and bought the album.
WRIR's Fall Fund Drive is coming up. If you like listening to Ambiance Congo, please consider making a donation. Thanks much!
Here are album sleeves.

David, many thanks for compiling another stellar playlist - plenty of sizzling guitars and a scattering of speaker-shredding horns. Just the ticket.
The Vata Mombasa and Menga Makombi LPs sounded very good, as did the Ladins Montana track. Rarities all.
On the subject of the hard to find; do you still have Le Peuple's Couleur Locale stashed away in the vinyl vault? If you get a chance to spin it again I'd love to hear some more of it - think it's only been played once up til now. Fine band.
Incidentally, how's the planning for the Youlou show going?

Hi Dave
Thanks once again for your thoughtful comments. Yeah, of course I still have the Le Peuple album. I'll pick out a good one for you. I have a number of their albums and they're all wonderful.
As for Youlou...it's still in the works. I think I may do that show in October some time.
