No Ambiance Congo for June 30, 2013

Apologies, friends.
The recordings I made for the program were of very bad quality and not worth posting.
You can find the track list here:

If there's something you'd like to hear and have missed out by not listening live, please let me know and I'll spin those songs again.

  1. David - The entire list looks great but if I were to choose a few songs please play Cherie Alpha and Les Affaires Sociales. Many thanks! Apurva from Pune, India.

David, shame about the recording but thanks for the Dagoson/Calamite songs - they sounded just fine on the live broadcast. Or maybe I'm deafer than I thought? To be fair, Calamite would still sound terrific if it was being played on a wind-up gramophone.
Did you make it up to the Washington show?

  3. I'll be happy to. Thanks for asking. There was a change made to the output equipment I use to record. Next time I'll hook up the headset before the show and listen first!

  4. I'm glad that you were listening live, Dave. Yes. That Calamite song is a great one!

  5. Oh yes. I DID go to the show in Washington. Lokassa ya Mbongo and JBlue were not there, but Le Professeur Ngouma Lokito was on hand as was the great Felix Manuaku. The band was made up of artists from all over the US, including an extremely talented young guitarist who now lives in the Boston area. I wish I had gotten his name!
There is a chance that the band will play live on the next Ambiance Congo. We shall see!
