Ambiance Congo: July 27, 2014

WELCOME!

Welcome to Ambiance Congo, your English-language radio program featuring only Congolese music.
This week, we have a few songs penned and / or sung by the late Debs Debaba, another one of my favorite singers who has passed on. The Choc Stars song is fire!
There are also a number of new songs - including tracks by Lutumba Simaro and by Papa Wemba, Also really great one by Bill Clinton that features some exciting sax - and a request for a song from the late Likinga Redo's LIKINGA CHANTE OLEMI LP.
Turn it up and enjoy it loud! Requests and comments always welcome!

Everything sounded superb this week, David - some great Debaba songs, nice bit of Santa Nyanga and even the Bill Clinton track sounded pretty good (I may have to give that CD another chance).

No doubt you've seen Moos' nice shiny new GlobalGroove site? There's so many LPs on there that I need to listen to; a veritable casket of treasure made available once again. Excellent news.

  5. BTW, Dave, I put up the cover, as you've no doubt seen, of the Likinga Cahnte Olemi album. Proof that aliens exist? LOL.
