Ambiance Congo: December 11, 2016

WELCOME!
All vinyl today, great music from the 70s and 80s. Today there are a number of tracks that feature Master Mwana Congo on guitar, including the great song by Didi Raphael Louvila and J. Mpouki Kimbolo with which we start the program. Other favorites of mine in here include Sam Mangwana's ASTRIDA N'DE, the songs by Youlou Mabiala and by Nguashi-N'Timbo as well as Yenga-Yenga's AMOUR, MALADIE UNIQUE.

  1. Thanks for yet another great show, and a huge thanks for giving up your time and putting in the effort to present programmes showcasing the obscure, overlooked, but utterly sublime music of the two Congos. Every show an absolute joy.

Have a good Christmas and lets hope next year is better than this one. Pretty unlikely, I know, but maybe the music will cheer us up.

  2. Glad you enjoyed, Dave. Happy Christmas! The music will cheer us up if the trend towards the old style continues. I have a lot of 70s 80s 90s LPs. Let me know if there's something you'd like to hear.

  3. Talking of wonderful old LPs, do you have Bakoule's "Tu Ne's Qu'un Gerant" LP? I'm sure you'd have played it if you did, but if it's languishing in the vinyl vault just gathering dust then it would be nice to hear something off that one. Or something off his "L'Amour N'A Pas D'Age" LP that you played a few months ago - that one sounded very good. Many thanks.
