I have a mix of the great old music and some very good newer songs for you today. I love to rediscover things I have not listened to in a while, such as the Clan Wenge disc and the LP by Kosmos Moutouari.
There's another excellent song from Roga Roga's last CD for your listening pleasure toward the end of the program.
Baloji's disc was a promo at the station that I had not heard before, so I just spun the first song. After hearing that, I may have to sample the whole thing. I see that Maitre Dizzy Mandjeku plays solo guitar on a couple of the other songs...his presence alone makes me want to listen if for no other reason.
I want to thank Dr. Frank for making the Orchestre TP Kimvuka available to us. This is an interesting and good song that reminds me of the music of Jupiter & Okwess International but with a lot more punch and excitement. It's a pity that they did not make any actual records.
To Jan and his friends in Connecticut, I hope you got your Stukas fix!

If you do not see an album cover here, it has probably been posted before. Please search by a key word such as, "Kukiele" for the Clan Wenge CD, and scroll down.
