I have long admired Papa Wemba's music and also anything Viva la Musica. There is a lot of that in this program today. I enjoyed it. I hope you will, too!

Thanks for yet another really enjoyable show, David, some fine selections as usual.
ReplyDeleteI never heard of Bana Ngenge before but I'm glad I have now - great track. Just been reading some stuff about them on the fascinating "Congolese bands in East Africa" part of the Muzikfan site. Is that Dr Rhythm's site? It's good.
Thanks for playing something off the Nasala CD - I've seen it a few times and always wondered who or what it was. Now I know. And it's good.
Dave, Doctor Rhythm put together a collection of songs by various singles by various bands on the Bana Moja label. That's where I got the Bana Ngenge song.
ReplyDeleteThe Joe Niko CD is indeed very good.
Thanks, as always, for your comments!
