You are always welcome to listen to Ambiance Congo.
Today, I seem have chosen a lot of music from the late 1980s to early 2000s.
Sitting here in the middle of the night with my mansanga, listening to and enjoying the program for the first time
I don't get to hear the shows as I present them. It's all ad lib and I'm constantly queuing up the next song. Even when I've planned something, I get inspired by the sheer volume and variety of Congolese music and the programs never proceed as planned.
But this a good one, I think. I hope that you'll agree and leave a comment or request.

Thank you for creating this program. Downloading the episode now. Apurva from Pune, India.
ReplyDeleteThank you for listening, Apurva.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear what you liked or disliked, anything else you'd care to have me play.
Nice mix of songs this week, David, and all good stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing something off "Integration" and also for playing the Manda Chante and Impression Des As CDs. All three are about as rare as hen's teeth so it's wonderful that they get an airing somewhere.
How are you finding the JBlue CD? I'm not sure about it, though the track you played was OK.
Did you know that Evoloko has a new CD out called Deja Deja? (there are some tracks on Youtube).
It's got to be better than somewhat underwhelming "La Route a Suivre". That one sounded like they recorded the vocal parts over the telephone. Not good.
Thank you for listening, Dave.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to hear what you enjoyed and to get your comments about new CDs.
The album you emntioned? It's OK. As you say.
Upon a quick glance at the tracks on the new Evoloko CD, it seemed like a reissue compilation. Was I wrong?
Good point. I think you're right.
