Evcery once in a while I "rediscover" a real gem and the album FIN D'EXIL of Reddy Amisi and Stino Mube is just such a joy to lasten to!
I was excited to get a new ARTICLE 23 double album from Felix Wazekwa, but I was very disappointed to hear that most of the songs are not much more than mabanga set to a repetitious rhythm. I have included one of the actual songs in this program.
I am always happy to play anything by Youlou Mabiala and today I had a chance to spin his great MON AVOCAT A VOYAGE song in its entirety.

Alot of Fin d'exil songs are not big, their last album with them was Hiroshima. Jean Louis Bikunda is so dangerous on the bass.

ReplyDeleteI love Jeu Muke-album because of Kabose & Theo Mbala (they both were also together in Big Stars of Defao) and also only Album with the guys without female singers, only Abby Surya as guest like Simolo, etc.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what General Defao's reaction was when he discovered that Kabose & Theo Mbala putting their song on that disc (the generic & Mukuba). The same for Guy Guy Fall who also invited Ramatoulay on Force de frappe which made Roga Roga angry, while Extra Musica was very busy with recording Shalai.
It is indeed an excellent album.
