Fine show, David, many thanks.
ReplyDeleteIt's a real shame that the Ems Pecola & Papa Noel CD seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth - you've played a few tracks off it and they've all been really good.
Incidentally, I saw the picture of your good self with Felix Manuaku over on the Africambiance site. Good photo, you're lucky to have met a living legend - and one who looks so well, too. Have you chosen a (sensibly-sized) frame for it yet?
Yeah that Ems Pecola CD is very good. I do enjoy it. But it is hard to go wrong when Papa Noel is involved. That said, Ems Pecola, Emmanuel Sadisu Vata, wrote all the songs and there's not a bad one on the disc. The liner says he was born in Kanshasa of Angolan parents. He states that he is the author of many other songs stolen from him in Kinshasa, Angola and in Lyon where he now lives.
ReplyDeleteThank you for playing Cherie Alpha. Great program. Apurva from Pune, India.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Apurva!
