Thanks to everyone who tuned in live this time! Our internet connections were almost maxed out and everyone seemed to having a good time. I know did!
I want to thank Moos for sharing a couple of his rips. His albums are in similar shape with mine, but even with the uninvited guests, Snap, Crackle and Pop!, the music is fantastic.
Take a listen!
If you have requests for future programs, I'd love to hear them.

Another wonderful show, David, thanks for putting the whole thing together once again. Mr Malonga, what a record! - brightened up my day quite considerably hearing that one again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on Ephesiens - I picked up a copy of it and it's an absolute cracker, every song a gem.
On the subject of recordings by OK Jazz collectives, I've heard a couple of great songs in the archives from the Yembele Yembele LP by Mbemba Bouesso. Was that a one-off LP or do think he did some more?
Anyway, keep up the noble work of promoting Congo music - plenty of people have been given knighthoods for doing less!
Thank you, Dave.
ReplyDeleteThat Mbemba Bouesso album is one of the great LPs. I have another that I've played on the show that is good, but not like Yembele Yembele.
Great show David. Many thanks for the efforts you take. Hope that some day, the Congolese governments (two nations across the river...) recognize your contribution towards their culture. Apurva from Pune, India.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Apurva. I'm glad that you enjoy the program time and time again and I appreciate your comments. I can honstly say that I've never considered receiving any kind of recognition from anyone. It's the music and the artists who make this music who deserve recognition!
ReplyDeleteHopefully, I'm doing just a little bit towards that goal.
That said, I love hearing from listeners like you who enjoy this music as much as I do.
